With Threefold Farming, we recognize design principles 2 and 5; commons are part of the bigger picture, and we design to distribute.
Traditionally, we rely on governments to provide infrastructure and manage income distribution. Every four years, we vote for politicians to determine tax policies and rules governing redistribution and infrastructure development.
But thanks to new organizational technology we can have common infrastructure that is distributive by design. That's a wise thing to do.
With Threefold Farming, communities invest in hardware and connect it to Threefold Grid. They take income, ownership, and say of the hardware that produces the capacity to run our AI and other algorithms. They will become part of a Threefold Cooperative.
The capacity produced by Threefold farmers is sold to companies, citizens, communities, and governments. TFT (Threefold token) is the means of exchange within the Threefold ecosystem; it complements the traditional money system within an embedded economy.
Kate Raworth’s book is very motivational for taking meaningful action. An actualized version of her international bestseller emerged after the city of Amsterdam embraced her design principles. The BBC featured it; see here. The book is available; see here.
